Huckabee to visit Corpus Christi for October event

Former Arkansas governor and GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has been tapped as the guest speaker for this year's Bay Area Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse luncheon.

The eighth annual luncheon will be held on Oct. 12 at the Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center.

Huckabee, who sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008, is now the host of Fox News Channel's "Huckabee" and has a syndicated radio show.

He has authored nine books - the latest, "A Simple Government," currently is on the New York Times Bestseller list, according to his website.

Past luncheon speakers have included U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, conservative commentator Ann Coulter and President George W. Bush's longtime advisor Karl Rove.
